01The challenge

Herculaneum Quay was finished with a combustible cladding system and has stood empty just outside Liverpool city centre ever since: never lived in, and unable to be until the external wall was made safe.

02Our approach

Working with the client, architect, fire engineer and Homes England, we developed a strategy to take the building to compliance and, ultimately, occupation. The full combustible system comes off and is replaced with a BBA-approved, Class A fire-rated solution, with fire stopping installed and verified throughout.

03The outcome

As Principal Contractor, Profac presents the building as complete, fire rated and fully documented, with every record from initial design to final installation held in a digitally accessible Golden Thread. It’s the way we now run every project.
