Fire stopping & cavity barriers

Cavity barriers, fire stopping and compartmentation installed to the tested detail, inspected, photographed and signed off by an appointed person.

Fire stopping & cavity barriersFire stopping & cavity barriers

Overview

Fire-critical elements only work if they’re installed exactly as tested. A cavity barrier a few millimetres out, or a gap behind a pipe penetration, can undo a whole fire strategy.

Our installers are qualified and closely supervised. Every barrier and fire-stopping detail is recorded with location-tagged photos and logged in the Golden Thread, so it can be audited at Gateway 3 and for years after.

    FAQs

    Common questions.

How do you prove barriers were installed correctly?
Each detail is photographed before it’s covered up, tagged to its elevation, floor and grid line, and signed off by an appointed person. That evidence goes into the Golden Thread.
Do you only fire stop on your own façades?
Fire stopping is usually part of our façade package, but we can also take on stand-alone compartmentation work on remediation schemes.
Which standards do you work to?
We install to the manufacturer’s tested details and the project fire strategy, in line with Approved Document B and the Building Safety Act.
